Upcoming Solar IPO’s that can be a Good Long Term Investment

Three companies viz. Acme, Sembcorp and Renew Power are planning to go the IPO route for raising funds. For investors looking to purchase renewable energy companies, this can be a fantastic opportunity to take part in such companies. Given India’s commitment to investments in renewable sources of energy, this can turn out to be good long term investment strategy.

ACME Solar is one of the leading companies in solar power and the company is one of the leaders in Photovoltaic Technologies. ACME has pioneered solar power development in India and has commissioned the First Solar Thermal Power project based on Tower Technology in Asia. This state of the art technology is highly energy efficient.

The company has a current capacity of over 1.8 GW of solar generation and targets 7500 MW by the year 2022.

ACMe is currently refilling its IPO papers and will soon open for subscription. Keep an eye out for ACME if you’re looking to invest in a robust solar company.

Another company that will soon be coming out with an IPO to raise funds is Sembcorp. The company is Singapore based and has a total gross capacity of over 11,000 megawatts. The company is well diversified and the Indian arm has filed papers for an IPO. As per the documents filed, Sembcorp will raise Rs. 4,095 crores and a total of 146.77 million shares will be made available.

Sembcorp Energy India currently leads with 4.07 GW of power generation either generated or under construction.

ReNew Power which is one of India’s biggest players in renewable energy is also planning an IPO to raise funds. The company is an established player in wind and solar and specializes in rooftop solar.

The company had acquired Ostro Energy for about Rs 10,200 crores which lead to its portfolio to 5,600 MW. The company already has more than 2GW of projects commissioned.
