Assistant Program Leader Vacancy at IRRAD

Job Title:  Assistant Program Leader (Agronomist), Institute of Rural Research & Development (IRRAD)

Location: Samastipur, Bihar

IRRAD works through its four core centers i.e.: Natural Resources Management, Policy Governance and Advocacy, Capacity Building and Rural Research.

Job Description:

  1. Manage project agriculture interventions independently
  2. Develop full-scale project plans, execution, and monitoring and measuring impact of the projects
  3. Strong community mobilization to ensure community participation in the project intervention
  4. Providing field level technical support to farmers and project supervisors
  5. Capacity building of non technical field staff and farmers through field days celebration, trainings    and conducting exposure visits.
  6. Preparing project annual budget requirement , use of funds  and budget requirement on quarter, half yearly and annual basis
  7. Coordinate with Project In charge for community mobilization and extension activities in the villages
  8. Management of project HR and finance in consultation with organization concerned head
  9. Liaison with project stakeholders for strong networking and wide spread impacts of the projects
  10. Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports
  11. Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management
  12. Develop IEC material in consultation with project subordinate staff.
  13. Networking with government official , line department , KVK’s, educational and research institute required for smooth execution of the project
  14. Representing organization  and  project at various regional and national platform

Eligibility:

  1. Master degree in agriculture with specialization in agronomy, soil science, horticulture or other related discipline related with agriculture any national /state agriculture university.
  2. Minimum 5-6 years field work experience in directly working with farmers in any agriculture development projects
  3. Familiarity with socio-economic and cultural diversity of Bihar
  4. Basic understanding of community mobilization process
  5. Basic familiarity with computers- Internet, MS Office,
  6. Ability to stay, work  and travel in rural areas
  7. Experience of working in closed, socio-economically backward community and the region
  8. Ability to convey useful information and effective communication  with the farming community
  9. Basic understanding of community mobilization process
  10. Able to communicate effectively the relevant information with the farming community
  11. Computer literacy with standard software programmes, writing skills and presentation skills.
