Consultant required by GWP-India for WACREP

Established in 2001, India Water Partnership (IWP) is a non-profit organization  located at WAPCOS Ltd., Sector-18, Institutional Area, Gurgaon (Haryana) and  accredited to the Global Water Partnership (GWP) headquartered at Stockholm, Sweden. IWP is working through its partners for implementing Phase-I of Water and Climate Change Resilience Program (WACREP) project which has been launched in the region w.e.f. October, 2013 and it will run upto March, 2015.

The programme aims to a) integrate water security and climate resilience in development planning, b) develop partnerships and capacities to build resilience to climate change through better water management, and c) develop no regret financing and investment strategies for water and climate change adaptation.

On successful completion of Phase-I, the GWP may extend the program beyond March, 2015 for Phase-II

Job Description:

The tasks to be performed by the Consultant are the following:

  1. Ensure proper implementation of the activities/sub-activities as proposed by the  implementing agencies in their proposals, as per the time frame proposed by the  implementing agencies and approved by IWP.
  2. Ensure that the activities are being carried out as per the Logical Framework provided  by the Regional Office, GWP-South Asia
  3. Conduct monitoring and evaluation of the Program, including maintaining up-to-date records and collecting and analysing data on Program impact.
  4. Consolidate the progress report/quarterly report/half yearly report/annual report on the basis of reports received from the implementing agencies from time to time.
  5. Follow-up with the implementing agencies for timely completion of the activities as envisaged by the Regional Office.
  6. Provide technical advice to IWP Secretariat from time to time.
  7. Coordinate knowledge management of outcomes related to the WACREP through documentation of good practices and lessons learned (based on the reports submitted  by the implementing agencies.
  8. Prepare technical reply to the implementing agencies and queries raised by WACREP Programme Manager based at Regional Office of GWP South Asia
  9. Help IWP Secretariat to organize the workshop in association with SAARC Disaster Management Centre (activity 6 described in Para 2 Table).
  10. Help IWP Secretariat to prepare quarterly expenditure report on the WACREP project.
  11. Prepare proposal for financing through different agencies.
  12. Any other task that may be assigned by the IWP Secretariat from time to time.

Eligibility:

  1. Master’s degree and above in one of the following fields: environmental science,  water management, economics, climate change adaptation
  2. A minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience, including 5 years in the  management/coordination of internationally funded water/natural resource/environmental management projects;
  3. Demonstrated experience in project development, monitoring & evaluation and proven ability to operate in a multi-cultural environment and interact positively with a wide range of stakeholders is highly desirable.
