Title: Fellowship- Access and Benefit Sharing, NBA

Location: Chennai

Organization’s profile:

Centre for Biodiversity Policy and Law (CEBPOL) at the National Biodiversity Authority, Chennai will provide this fellowship to individuals who have relevant expertise and experience on issues of ABS along with adequate knowledge in Biological Diversity Act (2002) and Rules (2004).

The duration of the assignment is for 12 months on a full-time basis. Position is temporary and not permanent.

Job Description:

The incumbent will carry out a comparative study on user country measures under the Nagoya Protocol, Review of sector specific compliance challenges on ABS in India, Study and analyze options for ABS,  Review paper on linking TK and ABS under the BD Act with reference to India’s obligations under the Nagoya Protocol on ABS, assist NBA/MoEF in all activities that are related to ABS;

Compensation is Rs.75, 000 per month (Consolidated) subject to TDS at the rates applicable.

Eligibility:

At least a Master’s degree in Life Science / Law/ Policy or related discipline and 3-5 years of experience working on issues of biodiversity law and policy issues along with 2-3 years of experience working on issues of ABS.
