Field Coordinator Vacancy at SELCO Foundation

Job Title: SELCO Foundation- Field Coordinator

Location: Bangalore, Karnataka

Organization’s profile:

Initially started as a department within SELCO, it spun off in 2010 as a separate legal entity under the umbrella of SELCO Foundation, a registered non-profit organization. The main Labs is located in the small town of Ujire, close to Dharmasthala in Karnataka and was chosen specifically for its proximity to rural communities.

Job Description:

  1. Conducting community meetings and identifying the needs
  2. Resolving community issues and collecting beneficiary feedback.
  3. Supervising and guiding the IEC operators
  4. Ensuring the IECs processes are implemented well
  5. Helping the interns and volunteers in their community interactions.

Eligibility:

The Field Coordinator will closely work with the Technician, Project Manager, interns/volunteers to implement and run the Integrated Energy Centers in urban and rural settlements. He/she is also the most visible face of the Foundation to the users and operators/entrepreneurs. The field coordinator will undergo an intensive on-the-job orientation and basic training to enable and administer his/her duties on the field.

Languages: Kannada is must, Hindi and English will be added advantage

Academic Qualification: Graduate / Post Graduate in Social Sciences

Experience: Fresher or 2 year experience of working with urban poor

  4. Willingness to work with underserved communities

Additional attributes:

  1. Passionate about working on sustainable energy related projects
  2. Comfortable with providing technological innovations to the poor
  3. Understand and communicate in English
  4. Basic Computer Skills (Excel and Word) and able to use email facility
