Jakson Power Solutions gets 10 MW project in UP

Jakson Power Solutions has secured a new 10 MW solar Independent Power Project (IPP) from government of Uttar Pradesh as per reports. Uttar Pradesh has an ambitious solar power policy and is aiming to install 500 mw of solar power plants in the state by 2017.

The company will set up the solar IPP in Bundelkhand region at a total cost of Rs 800 million and is targeting to commission the project by March, 2014.

Solar energy doesn’t pollute or generate toxic waste in its operation. It is especially advantageous for tropical countries. Read more on different solar technologies here. Jakson already owns and operate 20 mw solar power plant in Rajasthan which was installed under Phase I of Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission(JNNSM).

The state has also signed  MoU with the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) for setting up a 100 MW solar power plant in Jalaun.

The government of Uttar Pradesh has planned to invest Rs 2,300 crore with eight firms for generation of solar power.
