The 3 year project at Laboratory for Conservation of Endangered Species (LaCONES)
Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad will study two wide spread generalist frog species, one obligate aquatic and the other terrestrial in a man-modified landscape.
Job Description:
The study will use mark-recapture; radio-telemetry and also micro-satellite marker based assessment of movement of individuals, interaction of populations and also dispersal. The study will use the data to infer the impact of roads and other modifications on the habitats on the likelihood of persistence of these frog species.
Eligibility:
keen interest in field work, knowledge of basic GIS, wet lab work and population ecology and population genetics. Selection process will comprise of a written exam and interview.
