In order to understand and assess the key issues and challenges that the sector faces and also to craft a vision and strategy for its growth, ACCESS has introduced the Livelihoods India Initiative, a national platform on livelihoods. The initiative has evolved significantly over the years and has emerged as an important forum for all stakeholders to discuss and mull over critical issues that impede and afflict the sustainability of the livelihoods of poor.The contest is open with the following themes-

-Feed the Future: Women’s Empowerment in Agriculture
-Strengthening communities through Social Inclusion, Rights, Livelihoods and Welfare
-Skilling the Indian Workforce
-ICTs as enablers of Agricultural Innovation Systems
-Sustainable Rural Development in Non-Farm Sector
-Agriculture/ Horticulture: Harvesting Gold
-Poultry Sector’s Spirited Response to Challenges
-Animal Husbandry and Rural Development
-Fisheries Management: Issues and Challenges

The 10 best entries will win:

A cash prize of Rs. 10,000 each, The photograph will be positioned in a prominent space in a photo gallery which will feature during the Livelihoods Asia Summit 2014 (December 15-16, 2014),The photograph may be featured on the cover pages of ACCCESS’ publications with photo credits, 1 complementary pass worth (Rs. 5000) for the Livelihoods Asia Summit 2014 (December 15-16, 2014).

Eligibility:

The contest is open to all, professional and amateur, regardless of age, sex or nationality.

How to apply:

Submission Rules-
Entry is limited to original works that have not formerly been displayed or exhibited and to which the entrant holds all applicable rights. Works that have won prizes in other contests or that have been submitted to other contests currently underway are not eligible. Works that are entered in other competitions after submitting to this contest will not be eligible.

Submission Guidelines-
Image data files created with digital still cameras (including medium and large-format cameras). Images that have been retouched using software or by other means will be accepted. Both colour and monochrome images will be accepted. (Scans of photographs taken by film cameras are not eligible.)
File format: JPEG
File size per JPEG: more than 1500 x 2100 pixels/more than 150dpi/Up to 20 MB
Please submit a 100 word description of the photograph with your submission.
All entries must be sent by email to accessdevorg(at)gmail.com. Winners will receive an email notifying them of the result.
