Make A Difference ONLINE PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST 2013

ABOUT CONTEST

Make A Difference (MAD) is pleased to announce 2013 Online Photography Contest. This competition is to recognize the work of outstanding photographers and also to create awareness about Make A Difference’s initiatives. We also felt the importance of preserving fauna as well as philanthrophy. Hence the competition is initiated during wildlife week (Oct 2 – Oct 8) and Joy of Giving week (Oct 2 – Oct 8) . The competition is open to all photographers of Indian Nationality.

The winners stand a chance to win a total cash prize of INR 10,000/- (INR 5,000 to one winner for each category).

MAD, or Make A Difference, is a youth volunteer network, working with Children at risk in India. Made up of mostly youth volunteers, MAD imparts English communication skills to children in orphanages, street shelters and poor homes.

From 2010 on, Make A Difference started using the Cambridge University Press material in its classrooms. The English project takes learners from starter to intermediate level using the Cambridge English for Schools series of textbooks.

Currently, around 1300 Make A Difference volunteers teach close to 5400 children in the Indian cities of Cochin, Mangalore, Coimbatore, Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai, Vellore, Bangalore, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Bhopal, Gwalior, Guntur, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Mysore

Contest Details-

Photographs must be in digital format. Only online entries will be eligible. No print or film submissions will be accepted for entry into this Contest. The photograph need not be taken with a digital camera (mobile photography is allowed); All  files must be 5 megabytes or smaller, must be in JPEG or .jpg format, and must be at least 1,600 pixels wide (if a horizontal image) or 1,600 pixels tall (if a vertical image).

Photographs must have been taken within two (2) years before the date of entry and may not previously have won an award.

Only minor burning, dodging and/or color correction is acceptable, as is cropping. High dynamic range images (HDR) and stitched panoramas are NOT acceptable. Any changes to the original Photograph not itemized here are unacceptable and will render the Photograph ineligible for a prize.

All images should contain the EXIF data. In case a re-touched image is submitted for the contest, the original image as well needs to be submitted along with it.

The photograph, in its entirety, must be a single work of original material taken by the Contest entrant. By entering the Contest, entrant represents, acknowledges and warrants that the submitted photograph is an original work created solely by the entrant, that the photograph does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim or interest in the photograph.

The photograph must not, in the sole and unfettered discretion, contain obscene, provocative, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content.
