Job Title: Multiple Vacancies in a Research Programme, Tata Institute of Social Sciences
Location: All positions would be based at Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai; however Senior Research Scientist and Research Scientist would be required to travel extensively in the field during data collection.

Description: The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai in collaboration with Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Chhattisgarh have launched an independent concurrent evaluation study of Mitanin (ASHA) Programme in the State of Chhattisgarh under the European Commission State Partnership Programme (ECSPP). The study attempts to prepare a framework to unfold various aspects in Mitanin programme. The findings and recommendations of the evaluation research would eventfully lead to improvement of the existing programme implementation as well as demonstrate the results of resource investments in the state of Chhattisgarh.
Job Description:
For the position mentioned in A and B, the incumbents would be responsible for the tool designing, training of field investigators, monitoring and supervision of data collection, data editing, data analysis and preparation of draft reports etc.
Language: Fluency in English and Hindi (written and spoken)
Salary package commensurate with qualifications and experience
Eligibility:
A) Senior Research Scientist: PhD. in Social Science, or health sciences, or a Masters degree in Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology and allied fields with at least 4-5 years of research experience in the health sector. The post requires an excellent understanding of social science research especially in evaluation research and computer skills (SPSS, Atlas Ti, Microsoft Office, Excel, PPT etc). The person should have hands on experience on with both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Published papers in the peer reviewed journals would be an added advantage.
B) Research Scientist: M. Phil, Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Social Sciences, Development field (or equivalent) with at least 2-3 years of research experience in the relevant sector. The post requires an excellent understanding of evaluation research and computer skills (SPSS, Atlas Ti, Microsoft Office, Excel, PPT etc.). The person should have hands on experience on with both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
C) Data Entry Assistant: Minimum 2 years of experience of data entry in SPSS and Microsoft Excel and ability enter correct data of large number of variables.
