The Centers for International Projects Trust (CIPT) seeks to design and implement water solutions in some of the country’s most challenging settings. Affiliated with the Earth Institute at Columbia University in New York, the Center is uniquely positioned to apply rigorous, multi-disciplinary research to solve difficult on-the-ground water resources and climate-related water risk problems.
In collaboration with government agencies, civil society and private sector partners, CIPT is developing new models and research paradigms for effective water and energy management in various States of India. CIPT aims to provide rigorous, research-based knowledge as the foundation for its various field based initiatives involving the local communities, government, non-government and private partners. The core objective of the Center is to test, develop and disseminate information that leads to informed policy decisions related to water-energy-food-climate security and sustainable livelihoods.
Job Description:
Reporting to the Program Manager of the CIPT, the incumbent will be responsible for providing operational support and management for the programmatic and research initiatives of the CIPT in the state of Jharkhand. The incumbent will act as focal point for relations with regional and state level external partners. Develop project activity calendar for the state, communicate with other team members, organize and facilitate group meetings and track project schedules. Perform related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested by the Director/Program Manager of CIPT, India.
Project Coordinator will carry out the following specific activities.
Eligibility:
Master’s degree required. Minimum 4-5 years of experience in project oriented endeavors, with 2-3 years experience managing agriculture, water, environmental or development programs. Strong organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication skills required; demonstrated ability to manage projects independently; demonstrated computer proficiency (word processing, excel, databases) required; ability to work under pressure on competing responsibilities with resilience, discretion, and diplomacy.
Advanced degree and experience on agriculture, water conservation projects preferred.
