Job Title: Project Coordinator, Nav Jagriti

Nav Jagriti, a grass root level non-governmental organization, was institutionalized in the year 1993 under Indian Societies registration Act’1860. The organization federally operates in addressing the different issues of flood prone and water logging areas of Bihar.

As of now, NJ has emerged as one of the pioneer development organisations in the field of Education, Child Rights, Disaster Risk Reduction, Women Empowerment, Health, and Livelihood for the deprived and downtrodden communities living under economic hardship and other social problems.

Vision – Nav Jagriti vision is to aspire to the value of individual and collective efforts for integrated development and it also inspires to ensure better conditions for the people at large and disadvantaged and vulnerable section of the society in particular.

Operational areas and Target Groups

Currently Nav Jagriti is working with nearly half a million people scattered over 32 blocks and 285 villages in ten districts of north Bihar.

As target groups, NJ has been working with and for downtrodden, deprived and most marginalized people, poorest of the poor, women, girls and children, poor and marginalised farmers, adolescent girls, migrant communities , commercial sex workers, needy and helpless, neglected & trafficked children, flood and disasters affected people as the priority groups.

Job Description:

  1. To ensure the implementation of the project as per the action plan.
  2. To ensure that all the activities are done with quality.
  3. To participate in the capacity building programs.
  4. To collect data from front line worker and develop the domain specific report on time and pass it on to project manager.
  5. To identify the domain specific capacity building need and organize training events.
  6. Convergence with domain specific government programs.
  7. To maintain healthy relationship with government functionaries at block related to their domain.
  8. To participate in government program activities and sharing of experience.
  9. To maintain healthy relationship with all the stakeholders and block and community level.
  10. To maintain domain related data base and its sharing with other stakeholders to improve services.
  11. To sort-out problems at field level in consultation with the project manager.
  12. To do supportive supervision and maintain a healthy relationship with team members.
  13. To monitor domain specific day to day activities of frontline staffs and supportive supervision.
  14. Spend average 20 days at field level.
  15. To ensure child rights and child protection policy at every level.
  16. To ensure all assets should be utilized properly and most prudent ways.
  17. To monitor domain specific financial records, review budget vs. actual, make required justification on variation. Maintain transparency in all financial dealings.
  18. To design the formats & IEC (need base), update the project level MIS and assist for budgeting.
  19. To verify all field level expenses and mention the nature of expenditure.
  20. To overall monitor and support the project in the state
  21. To ensure implementation of activities at the field level
  22. To ensure timely reporting and compilation of reports
  23. To be the point person for the project and ensure timely reporting of the project to ICO/Donor concerned
  24. To help in establishing linkages with government department/ICDS at district and state level for effective implementation of the project
  25. Provide supportive supervision to partner staff on ECCD project
  26. Undertake periodic field reviews to understand and report field situation
  27. Coordinate and facilitate donor visits to Project Area
  28. Facilitate the development of program budgets, monitor the expenditure and ensure modifications as required
  29. Coordinate with the partner team for timely submission of accurate fund requests and timely transmittal of the funds from the country office
  30. To ensure proper utilization of budget for the project

Eligibility:

Having master Degree (MSW/RD/MBA/Social Science) with at least 2 years post qualification experience at Social Sector which includes minimum 1 year experience at the position of Project Coordinator .

OR

Bachelor degree (BSW/BA/BSC/BCOM) with at least 5 years post qualification experience at Social Sector which includes minimum 2 years experience at the position of Project Coordinator.
