Job Description:

  1. The PM will be responsible to coordinate the implementation of activities related to Livelihood, shelter, food security and nutrition support, child protection and education, following Plan India and ECHO procedures (planning, management, reporting).
  2. S/he is expected to facilitate the implementing partner to use participatory approach involving cyclone/flood affected families, local government representatives to identify needs, design, implement and facilitate activities which develop a sense of community and strengthen community support systems.
  3. Awareness building and programming specifically focused on cash based interventions, Child Centred DRR approach, Inclusion as the needs of vulnerable groups in order to ensure equal access to protection and participation in the delivery of services.
  4. Develop and implement capacity building strategy for project staff that prioritizes and enables staff to develop understanding of project according to agreed results with special focus on protection of vulnerable groups.
  5. Support the formulation and development of child protection strategies in the programme and their implementation in accordance with the mandate, strategies and priorities of the Organization;
  6. Coordinate and Communication with consortium members, Inter Agency network members, government line departments, local government representatives during the implementation of the project
  7. Supervise ECHO project activities with partner, consortium members and facilitate partner to establish linkages with district and state administration in coordination with state office.
  8. Work closely with State Administration to establish linkages with concerned departments to lobby and advocate towards child centred DRR practices in ongoing government schemes and policies.
  9. Participate in consortium meetings, IAG network meetings, meetings of other ECHO partners, if required, and other donors’ and coordination meetings as required.

Eligibility:

  1. Master’s Degree in Development and Social Studies
  2. At least 2 years’ experience working with ECHO funded programme with cash based interventions;
  3. At least 5 years experience with International agencies in Humanitarian Response, especially WASH, shelter and Disaster Risk Reduction;
  4. Experience in child protection, education in emergencies add value
  5. Experience/Knowledge on MGNREGA programme
  6. Proved experience in Project Management in multicultural context;
  7. Perfect knowledge of spoken and written English, Hindi is necessary.
  8. Ability to work to tight deadlines, under-pressure and to respect deadlines;
  9. Proven capabilities of personnel management and financial resources;
  10. Leadership attitude;
  11. Problem solving and strategic planning capabilities;
  12. Availability to move often through the Area of competence.
  13. The area of operation is based in a remote location
  14. Strong motivation and flexibility.

Travel Requirements: Upto 75% in the project implementing areas and occasionally to country office
