The Henry Martyn Institute: International Centre for Research, Interfaith Relations and Reconciliation (HMI), located at Hyderabad is a non-profit organization working to promote peace, interfaith relations and reconciliation among people of different faiths and cultures. It encourages the study of religions and practical grassroots involvement with the objective of improving relationships between divided groups and communities. HMI achieves its goals through diverse academic and praxis programmes. Henry Martyn Institute requires a Project Officer for its Community Development programme at Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh.

Job Description:

S/ he would be responsible for planning, organizing, monitoring and development of the various programmes for the community women and youth. S/he should be able to plan out activities that are compatible with the interests/needs of the community members. As the Project Officer, s/he will have to innovate to ensure an equal level of participation of both Hindu and Muslim women and youth in all the activities/trainings

Eligibility:

  1. Good academic background with a Masters degree in Social Work from a renowned
  2. University.
  3. At least 2- 3 years of relevant experience in programme implementation &
  4. Management in NGOs. Freshers are also encouraged to apply.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English language (verbal and
  6. Written).
  7. Proficiency in local languages Hindi/ Urdu and Telugu are a must (Should be able to
  8. at least speak these languages fluently).
  9. Should have high commitment, respect and willingness to work on inter-faith relations
  10. and peace building aspects.
  11. Should be willing to work in a multi religious set up.
  12. Should be a team player.
  13. Capability of producing clear, analytical, cogent and well thought out reports in English.
  14. Good computer knowledge (MS office) and Internet usage is a must.
