SHG Coordinator Vacancy at Shantidoot

Job Title: SHG Coordinator, Shantidoot

Location: Bihar

Organization’s profile:

SHANTIDOOT is a national level NGO established in 1991. The organization is implementing a no. govt./foreign aided projects in different districts of Bihar. The organization is also running professional institutions, like Teachers’ Training (B.Ed.) College, ANM Training School and ITI.

Urban Development and Housing Department (UD&HD), Government of Bihar in partnership with DFID, UK has undertaken ‘Support Programme for Urban Reforms (SPUR). Community Mobilization & Livelihoods Project is part of SPUR. Shantidoot is implementing the project in Hajipur (Vaishali District) and Biharsharif (Nalanda District) towns. The Project envisages mobilizing and strengthening communities living in slum areas for improvement in living conditions and income.

Job Description:

The Project envisages community mobilization and formation of women-led Primary/Neighbourhood Groups (PG/NHG), Samoohik Vikas Samitis (SVS) and SHGs; capacity building for undertaking micro-planning for infrastructure, economic and social development in all slums in close coordination with municipal bodies and Technical Support Agency (TSA) for facilitating implementation of community/slum development, social welfare schemes, etc.

Eligibility:

1. Post-graduate in any subject, 3 – 4 years’ experience in community mobilization, SHG formation or related activities

2. Both reading and writing command over English and Hindi and  ability to work on computer is must.

3. Candidate should be ready for extensive field work, monitoring,liaison and report preparation.
