Solar Water Pumps to be installed on farms by PGVCL

Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited (PGVCL), the state-owned power distribution company is going to undertake a pilot project of installing solar water pumps on agricultural farms.

“We have approval from the Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) , the holding company of PGVCL. We shall install five solar water pumps on pilot basis on agricultural research farms of Junagadh Agricultural University (JUA). Tenders for the same will be issued shortly,” said Sandeep Kumar, managing director (MD), PGVCL , on Thursday.

It is also the leading state in terms of overall solar energy installation in India.
