Job Description: The Union Cabinet of the Government of India (GOI) recently cleared the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) to strengthen the urban health system, particularly the primary healthcare system for the urban poor and vulnerable populations. Population Foundation of India (PFI) is supporting the MOHFW in designing, implementing and monitoring the urban health program through the USAID funded Health of the Urban Poor (HUP) program. Post the declaration of NUHM, PFI is supporting the MOHFW in nationwide orientation of stakeholders on NUHM, training of key officials, developing guidelines and protocols for key processes like planning and mapping, baseline surveys, facility assessment, appraisal of state and city plans, etc. In order to provide more intensive support to the MOHFW at GOI level and as per the request received from MOHFW, PFI is looking for qualified professionals to be placed with the MOHFW to support the activities under NUHM.

Eligibility:  Post-graduate degree in one of the discipline (including, but not limited to) public health, demography, social sciences, management; with specialization in Health Economics.

The candidate must possess at least 7 years of professional experience in public health and/or other social sector programs at the operational as well as at the policy level.

Demonstrated experience of working with senior government officials at central and state level (working with municipal health authorities is desirable).

Leadership capabilities, technical and managerial expertise in organizing and facilitating stakeholder meetings.
