Pravah (www.pravah.org) was set up in in1993 with a vision to build youth leadership for social change. It is kept alive by an active and engaged Governing Board and a strong and professional executive team, and is being fulfilled through the design and delivery of innovative experiential learning and action programmes with diverse groups of young people across the country. Pravah also train teachers, support youth led initiatives, incubate new organizations and partner with other organizations to mainstream youth development and active citizenship by providing organizational development and programmatic support. Pravah is also engaged in influencing public policy in the field of youth.

Annually, Pravah’s total outreach is approx. 8000 young people, support/mentor 30 social entrepreneurs/ youth organizations, and work with around 100 partners.So when you work (Pravah prefer to call it ‘walk’ with us), you actually work with many others – young people, teachers, other organizations and the larger civil society – all from as diverse worlds as you can imagine.In the current phase of our journey, Pravah is looking for inspired and committed fundraisers to work with them

Job Description:

As the Associate Coordinator, you will:

  1. Mobilize youth participation and execute efficient systems for smooth running of the programme.
  2. Lend support in designing, organizing and executing the programme, processes including workshops, exposure trips, volunteer, placements, events etc.
  3. Create and maintain appropriate databases and mobilize resources and manage budgets as required
  4. Ensure review, documentation and circulation of information related to respective programmes
  5. Work closely with the Programme Coordinator to set up and execute operational systems relevant to your programme.
  6. Participate in organizational trainings, review and planning exercises, meetings and retreats.

Eligibility:

We are looking for a person, with

  1. A postgraduate degree in any discipline. A graduate with exciting work experiences that can be brought into this space of working with youth like volunteering, theatre, music, puppetry etc may also apply.
  2. Very good interpersonal skills, passion to work with young people and the ability to work under pressure
  3. Ability to multi-task and inspire openness to learning, think out of the box and connect with people
  4. An understanding of various development and social perspectives with a commitment to issues of social justice
  5. Willingness to travel extensively (to remote rural areas if required) and work flexible hours and weekends.
  6. Experience of managing logistics, databases and computer based communications.
  7. Fluency in English and Hindi.
  8. Capacity to work hard and keep commitments.
