Greenpeace has been actively campaigning on the threat to our environment and to the water resources due to the irrational expansion of coal power plants that is being witnessed in our country today.
There is an urgent need to shift investments into Renewable energy sources and Energy Efficiency to stop runaway climate change. On the contrary more investments are directed towards coal power plants. These power plants not only contribute to rising emissions and pollution but also compete for land either under forests or community-owned and water resources needed for drinking and agriculture.
Job Description:
The coal water campaign involves political lobbying, civil society mobilization and exploring legal strategies. So the campaigner for this role needs to be a dynamic person who can work wholeheartedly to campaign more effectively and mobilize different sections of society.
Eligibility:
Experience in working with community based organisations and working knowledge of socio-political & environmental issues in Maharashtra, job involves travel.
