Practical Action is a UK based international non-government organisation established by Dr EF Schumacher in 1966 with the objective of reducing poverty through wider use of appropriate technologies in developing countries. It works in more than 40 countries through its country and regional offices in Bangladesh, Bolivia, India, Kenya, Nepal, Peru, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Sudan and Zimbabwe.

Job Description:

The incumbent is based in the Delhi Office and shall lead PAC’s Flood Resilience Programme in India. The incumbent is responsible for helping us to identify and capture best practices in flood resilience (from our flood resilience programmes particularly in Nepal and Bangladesh) and extending these into India through our technical advisory services.

Eligibility:

Candidate with M.BA/M.A./M.Sc in Geography/Economics/Sociology/Environmental Science is preferred or minimum required is B.E./B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Plan. The subject of study should be related to Flood Resilience, Disaster Risk Reduction, Disaster Risk Management or Flood Risk Management. At least ten years of work experience which includes working in an international development field with teams in multiple locations and with a range of stakeholders in flood resilience areas is required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Flood resilience/ Disaster Risk Reduction, Disaster Risk Management or Flood Risk Management is required.
