Vacancy for the post of Training Instructor at Kodaikanal,Tamil Nadu

Company profile: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Institute, Kodaikanal is a non-profit training and development organization dedicated to providing practical solutions to a wide range of water, sanitation, hygiene and environmental issues in India and the neighbouring countries. Core activities of WASH Institute are conducting training programs to groom water, sanitation, hygiene and environmental professionals and functionaries from Government, Non-profit organizations and other agencies, involved in the WATSAN sector.

Job Description:

  1. Conduct the training programs in co-ordination with the WASH team, based on the objectives, methodology and also evaluate feedback of the training conducted.
  2. Plan and design and improve training / course modules and curriculum on water supply, sanitation, environmental sanitation and hygiene from time to time based on cost effective methodologies and community based solutions.
  3. Ensure the training programs are delivered are of high standards with quality and appropriate training/learning materials as part of the training package, with necessary power points and use of audio visuals to help better understanding and interesting to the participants.
  4. Review existing modules at regular intervals to update its content, methodologies, tools etc. and ensuring that these course modules are up to date and meets the requirements of the WASH Institute target groups such as Communities, NGOs/CSOs, Government, INGOs, Private/Corporate, etc.
  5. Support the data management of WASH website by updating the programmes conducted.
  6. When there is a need, hire/engage external resource persons with a prior approval from the management and maintain data base of such resource personnel.
  7. Support in conduct of long term courses the organization undertakes.
  8. Plan and assist in conducting of district, state, National level workshops, Seminars, and conferences of the organization,
  9. Plan or assist in developing necessary publications of the organization like case studies, concept notes, training reports, newsletters, brochures and the like, that are required to disseminate or communicate information with quality and standards.
  10. Assist the team members in preparing and submission of reports to the donors and consortium partners as and when required.
  11. Networking and Resource Mobilization
  12. Supporting and developing tie-ups/ network with the INGOS, Government, NGOs and other training institutions within and outside the country to run the training programs of WASH Institute.

Eligibility:

  1. Master degree in social work / sociology / environmental engineering with minimum 3-5 years working experience in water, sanitation and hygiene sector.
  2. Fluency in English and Tamil to speak, read and write. Fluent knowledge in Hindi would be an added qualification.
  3. Proficient in simple computer software (MS Word, Excel, Power Point etc.
