In view of the increase in agricultural production and sales, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is supporting the government of Nagaland to assess the market for scaling up the sales of organic agricultural produce from Jhum fields.

Job Description:

The assignment is for a period of five weeks starting from the second week of February 2014.

The questionnaires for the interviews will be provided to the volunteers. Two or three separate teams would be formed to conduct these surveys. Volunteers will be working closely with a marketing consultant hired by UNDP to develop marketing linkages in Nagaland as part of this project.

Expenses and remuneration: Local travel and accommodation costs while carrying out the survey will be borne by the organization. A basic monthly stipend will be provided to selected volunteers.

Eligibility:

Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, ecology, sociology, environmental sciences and other related fields. The candidates would need to be proficient in English, Hindi, Nagamese and/or Assamese. Prior experience of conducting interviews and surveys will be a desired quality in candidates. Experience of working on computers with proficiency in Spreadsheet and Word would be desirable.
