The Department of Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark has an opening for a PhD student on the topic: Optimization of greenhouse gas mitigation at landfills.

Job Description:

The research work will focus on The student will work at the Department of Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark with Professor Peter Kjeldsen as main supervisor and Associate Professor Charlotte Scheutz as co-advisor. The project will be carried out in collaboration with external partners from the AV Miljø Landfill as well as Odense Waste Management Company. Main scope of the project is to further develop methodologies for determination of systems efficiencies – both gas utilization systems and bio-mitigation systems – and develop protocols for improving the mitigation efficiencies for systems.

Eligibility:

Master degree in engineering or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to the Master’s degree in engineering. The student should also be aware of waste management including landfill processes, chemistry and soil chemistry, experiences in about field work, sampling and analysis.
