Job Title: Millet Networker, Deccan Development Society

Location: Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh

Organization’s profile:

The Deccan Development Society (DDS), is a 28 year old grassroots organisation working in about 60 villages with women’s Sanghams (voluntary village level associations of the poor) in Medak District of Andhra Pradesh. The 5000 women members of the Society represent the poorest of the poor in their village communities. Most of them are dalits, the lowest group in the Indian social hierarchy.

Job Description:

Coordinate the activities under MINI in AP, Karnataka, Gujarat, Orissa, Tamilnadu, Assam, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, monitor the activities along with DDS senior management team, disseminate the outcome of the action study and participate in some local millet consultations across India, as and when required, to coordinate and developing millet areas as Biodiversity Heritage Sites and lobby for it in Orissa.

Salary- 20k to 22k per month.

Eligibility:

Masters Degree in Agriculture/ Social Work, good language skills in English and Telugu
