Second International Conference on Ecosystem Conservation and Sustainable Development
|The Second International Conference on ECOSYSTEM CONSERVATION AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT will take place from 3 to 5 October 2013 at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
The focal theme is Climate Change, Sustainability of Aquatic Ecosystems and Food Security.
“ECOCASD 2013 will be a rendezvous of those researchers and academicians working on cutting edge areas of ecosystem management and sustainable development and is a platform to share innovative ideas on ecosystem conservation, climate change adaptation and mitigation and sustainable development.”
Department of Aquatic Biology and Fisheries, University of Kerala in association with the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change, Kerala is to organize the second edition of the International Conference on Ecosystem Conservation and Sustainable Development (ECOCASD 2013). This event is co-organised by Ambo University of Ethiopia, who hosted the first edition of the conference in 2011. It is for the first time that an event of this sort is held in the country with an African university’s active participation.
Focal theme of the upcoming event is Climate Change, Sustainability of Aquatic Ecosystems and Food Security. Scientific sessions will also encompass presentations based on 15 themes related to sustainable natural resource management, biodiversity, sustainable fisheries, responsible tourism, IT and ecosystem management and related subjects. The conference is arranged in connection with the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of University of Kerala and the Department of Aquatic Biology and Fisheries.
